My robot design philosophy
Since childhood, robots have been more than just a fascination—they have been my greatest companions. My passion began with giant robots clashing on opposing sides, not merely for battle but for ideological conflicts and problem-solving. However, what captivated me most was not the combat itself but the intricate engineering behind these machines. Each component served a precise function, contributing to the robot’s overall performance and giving it a unique advantage over others.
This realization transformed my hobby from simply collecting robot figures to actively dismantling and redesigning them. I sought to enhance their functionality for pilots while also refining their visual appeal. As I immersed myself in this creative process, my focus shifted from merely improving existing designs to conceptualizing my own robots—ones that were not only high-performing but also iconic.
To deepen my understanding, I explored the philosophy behind robot design. Why do giant robots evoke such excitement? Why do some robots gain a cult following even when they lack traditional aesthetics? Through this exploration, I came to a defining conclusion: aesthetics alone do not determine a robot's success. A truly compelling robot is not just about how it looks, but about what it represents. It is the meaning, symbolism, and emotional connection that make a robot truly unforgettable.
As I continue on this journey, my goal is to design robots that go beyond form and function—robots that inspire, tell a story, and leave a lasting impact.
